Australian Labour Market Research Workshop returning Monday 4 and Tuesday 5 December 2023 in Canberra.

Planning is underway for the next Australian Labour Market Research Workshop 2023 that is to be held at the offices of Jobs and Skills Australia, 50 Marcus Clarke Street, Canberra. 

The most recent workshop was hosted very successfully at ANU on 30 November 2022 -

This important annual workshop provides researchers with a forum for presenting and discussing labour economics, including labour demand and supply issues, disadvantaged job seekers, labour market dynamics and adjustment and education, workforce training and skills.

The ALMR workshop has a long and illustrious tradition as a forum for engagement between policy, research and industry communities on contemporary labour market issues. 

The Call for Papers is now open. 

Papers will be selected on the basis of their quality and in relation to their general interest. Preference will be given to papers on the following themes:

1) Employment, education, training and skills shortages
2) Labour markets and demographic changes
3) New ways work is organised
4) Gender equity
5) Contemporary labour market issues
6) Applied labour econometrics
7) Work, welfare and the disadvantaged
